549.03 FIREWORKS PROHIBITED.
   (a)   “Fireworks” as used in this section means any composition or device prepared for the purpose of producing a visible or an audible effect by combustion, deflagration or detonation, except ordinary matches and except as provided in Ohio R.C. 3743.80.

   (b)   No person shall possess or discharge any fireworks, unless otherwise approved by the Chief Executive Officer based upon specific terms and conditions.
   (c)   Whoever violates this section shall be fined not more than one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) for the first offense and not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each subsequent offense. (ORC 1545.99)
