505.02 ABANDONING OR RELEASING ANIMALS.

(a) No owner, keeper or custodian of any animal shall abandon or release such animal unless authorized to do so for wildlife management, education or other lawful purpose.

(ORC 959.01)

(b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree on a first offense and a misdemeanor of the first degree on each subsequent offense.
