(A) (1) There shall be placed on all houses a number easily seen from the street, and every 24-foot space fronting on a street or avenue in business areas and every 50-foot space fronting on a street or avenue in residential areas shall be entitled to a number.
(2) It shall be the duty of the owner of the house to put the proper number on it so the number can easily be seen from the street, and any person failing to do this, within ten days after having been notified so to do by the Chief of Police, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
(B) It shall be the duty of the City Building Inspector to give to every person who so requests the proper number to be placed on his house.
(C) The Director of Public Works shall designate the place of beginning on all streets, and all numbers on right-hand side of each street, from place of beginning, shall be even numbers and all on the left-hand side shall be odd numbers.
