(A) Any person convicted in the City of Cleburne Municipal Court shall pay a $4.00 technology fund fee as a cost of court to be collected by the Clerk of the Court.
(B) For the purpose of this section, a person is considered convicted if:
(1) A sentence is imposed on the person;
(2) The person is placed on community supervision, including deferred adjudication community supervision; or the court defers final disposition of the person's case.
(C) The fee shall be collected on conviction for an offense committed on or after this section is adopted.
(D) The Clerk of Court shall collect the fee and pay the fee to the municipal treasurer of the city, who shall deposit the fee into the Municipal Court Technology Fund.
(E) For the purpose of this section, the Municipal Court Technology Fund shall be used only to finance the purchase of technology enhancements for the Municipal Court of the city, including but not limited to:
(1) Computer systems, networks, hardware and/or software;
(2) imaging systems;
(3) electronic kiosks and/or ticket writers; or
(4) docket management systems.
(F) The fund shall be administered by or under the direction of the City Council, as authorized by Tex. Code of Criminal Procedure, Art. 102.0172 (effective September 1, 2003).
