The City shall have power to regulate burial grounds, cemeteries, and crematories owned by any person, firm, corporation, or association now or hereafter established, and condemn and close any such in the thickly settled portions of the City when public interest or public health may demand, and shall have power to regulate the burial of the dead; to purchase, establish, and regulate one or more cemeteries; to regulate the registration of deaths and births, and the filing thereof with the County Clerk of Johnson County, Texas; and to direct the returning and keeping of bills of mortality.
