(A) The Texas Department of Transportation is authorized to establish reduced speed limits within construction zones on state highways within the city limits of the city. Upon receipt of notice that such reduced speed limits have been duly established by Texas Department of Transportation Minute Order, the Chief of Police is authorized to enforce compliance of vehicular traffic movement within such construction zones, provided that signs giving notice of reduced speed limits are in place and unobstructed prior to enforcement.
(B) All persons operating motor vehicles within a construction zone on state-maintained highways within the limits of the city shall operate the vehicles within the speed limit duly established for such zone pursuant to this section and Texas Department of Transportation Commission Minute Order.
