§ 150.080 WORK PERMITS.
   (A)   Required; exceptions.
      (1)   Except as otherwise specifically provided, it shall be unlawful for any person to construct, install, alter, extend, repair or replace any electrical wiring, apparatus or equipment of any voltage, for light, heat, power, decoration, amusement or any other purpose, without first securing a permit so to do from the Electrical Inspector. A separate permit shall be required for each separate building, store space or apartment, whether such a unit is metered separately or conjunctively, and a permit shall be taken on all such units whether supplied from a central metering station or directly from an electrical supply agency.
      (2)   This section shall not apply to a manufacturing concern, or any other concern, which engages a licensed maintenance electrician, for maintenance and repair work, who is regularly employed by such concern. Such maintenance electrician shall be entitled to do new electrical construction work on premises owned or leased by his employer without a permit.

   (B)   Application. In order to procure a permit required by this section, the person desiring to do such work shall make written application to the Electrical Inspector for a permit, submitting plans for such work in such application.

   (C)   Fee.
      (1)   The applicant for a permit under this section shall pay to the building inspection office a fee in the amount prescribed by the Uniform Administrative Code, 1982 edition, as modified by § 150.016.
      (2)   Payment shall be made of any and all fees that may become due and owing by the contractor or master electrician. These fees may be billed to the contractor and paid by the tenth of the following month, providing there is a signed authorization in the Building Inspections Office listing all personnel authorized to call for permits in the name of the company. A $25 late fee shall be assessed to all accounts not current by the tenth of the following month. Any account past due more than 60 days will lose all billing rights for six months, and no permits shall be issued until the account is paid in full.

   (D)   To whom issued. A permit required by this section shall be issued only to a person licensed under this subchapter to do the work contemplated by the permit or to a home owner doing his own work pursuant to § 150.061.
