§ 31.03 DEPUTY MARSHAL.
   (A)   The Deputy Town Marshal shall have the authority granted his or her office as provided for in the laws of the State of Indiana.
   (B)   The Deputy Town Marshal shall provide on-duty coverage up to 25 hours a week for 52 weeks a year. The scheduling of the days of the week and hours of the day will be at the Marshal's discretion. Any hours worked beyond the prescribed 25 must have prior authorization by the Town Marshal, or Town Council.
   (C)   The Deputy Town Marshal shall answer all complaints and respond to all emergencies when required on duty and/or when available beyond the hours and dates scheduled.
   (D)   The Deputy Town Marshal is exempt from paid vacation and sick leave.
   (E)   The Deputy Town Marshal is exempt from and does not quality for health insurance.
   (F)   The Deputy Town Marshal will be excused from his or her regular duties when he or she is required to attend training mandated by the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.
   (G)   In cases of illness or extended leaves of absence, the Town Marshal shall be notified. If the Town Marshal is unavailable, Town Council shall be notified.
   (H)   The Deputy Town Marshal shall be required to prepare a written report of all complaints on a form approved by the Town Council. These documents will be retained in the Town Marshal's records for a period of one calendar year. The records will be further kept in the crime reporting database permanently.
   (I)   The town will provide uniforms, equipment (except firearms), and a vehicle to be used while on duty.
