9-1-6: WATER SERVICE RATES:
The schedule of rates for water services contained in the city's fee schedule shall be charged and collected and such rates are hereby established and declared to be uniform with respect to the class of services furnished. All water accounts will be billed the monthly base fee regardless of any consumption of water.
   A.   Residential: All residential water connections will be assessed a monthly base fee, as well as a consumption fee for every one thousand (1,000) gallons consumed based on the usage for each billing period.
   B.   Multiple Dwelling Units, Apartment Houses And Mobile Home Parks: Multiple dwelling units, apartment houses and mobile home parks will be assessed a monthly fee per unit. Multiple dwelling units, apartment houses and mobile home parks will be allotted seven thousand (7,000) gallons per unit per billing period and then commercial rates will apply to usage.
   C.   Commercial/Industrial/Institutional/Dormitory Water Rates: Commercial/industrial/institutional/dormitory accounts will be assessed a monthly minimum base fee according to their meter size. A consumption fee will also be charged for every one thousand (1,000) gallons consumed based on the usage for each billing period.
      1.   Sprinkling Lawns, Unmetered: All unmetered water connections will be assessed a monthly fee based on the current rate for a five-eighths inch (5/8") meter from the commercial rate schedule in the city's fee schedule. Unmetered sprinkling lawn accounts will be billed monthly for a five (5) month period each year, from May 1 up to and including September 30.
      2.   Fire Protection Standby Charge: A sprinkling system standby charge per diameter inch of main pipe supply water to sprinkling system shall be assessed a monthly fee.
      3.   More Than One User: Whenever more than one commercial or industrial user is serviced by the same water meter, there shall be charged a minimum monthly fee based on the size of meter as identified in the rate table for commercial/industrial/institutional/dormitory service in the city's fee schedule. All gallonage will be assessed at the consumption fee from the same table and shall be divided equally between the users connected to the meter, unless the users present to the city a written agreement that the fees shall be charged on a different basis other than equally.
      4.   Unmetered Services: All commercial and industrial users not having metered water service shall be charged for water services based upon the number of connections and the number of employees, as follows:
         a.   Each connection, minimum per month, with eight (8) or fewer employees, charged at the one inch (1.00") meter size.
         b.   Each connection with nine (9) or more employees, charged at the two inch (2.00") meter size. (Ord. 2008-16, 12-9-2008)
