A. A person filling a position representing the city on a board or district which has the power to impose fees or to levy taxes shall be an incumbent mayor, member of the city council, or other qualified current resident of the city pursuant to title 17B, chapter 1 of Utah code, as amended.
1. Such appointments shall be made by resolution of the city council.
2. The term of office for such appointees shall be designated by the city council upon the appointment and shall comply with state statutes. However, subject to state law, at any time prior to the expiration of such an appointment, appointees may be removed for cause by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the city council.
3. The city council may appoint an alternate to attend said board or district meetings when the meetings of the board or district are in conflict with other scheduled city meetings. (Ord. 2008-07, 9-9-2008, eff. 10-1-2008)
