(A) Hereafter, the Offices of Town Clerk and Town Treasurer shall be combined and held by 1 person, that is, the duly elected or appointed, qualified and acting Town Clerk shall likewise be ex officio Treasurer. The Clerk, as ex officio Treasurer, shall hereafter exercise all the authority and powers heretofore vested in the Treasurer, and shall likewise perform all the duties heretofore performed by the Treasurer; provided, however, that no additional compensation shall be paid to the Clerk by reason of the performance of the duties of the office of Treasurer.
(B) In addition to the bond required of the Clerk in his or her capacity as Clerk, the statutory bond for Municipal Treasurers shall be separately given by the Clerk in his or her capacity as Treasurer of the town.
