All gas burners shall be placed at least 3 feet below any woodwork or ceiling attached to wooden beams, unless the same is properly protected by a shield, in which case the distance shall be not less than 18 inches. No gas bracket on any lath and plaster partition of woodwork shall be less than 6 inches in length, measured from the burner to the platter surface or woodwork. Gas lights placed near window curtains or other combustible material shall be guarded by globes or wire cages.
