§ 53.99 PENALTY.
   (A)   Any person violating any provision of this chapter for which no specific penalty is prescribed shall be subject to § 10.99.
   (B)   Any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions of division (A) of § 53.01 shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined a sum not to exceed $300 or shall be imprisoned for not more than 90 days, or shall receive both the fine and imprisonment.
   (C)   (1)   It shall be unlawful and a violation of §§ 53.15 through 53.27, 53.40 and 53.41 to do or cause to be done any of the following:
         (a)   Remove locking lid from meter can;
         (b)   Tamper with radio receiver on lid; or
         (c)   Tamper with water meter.
      (2)   Any person in violation of § 53.040 and has caused damage to property owned by the Town of Clayton Water Department shall be fined not less than $250 and no more than $500 or imprisoned for a term of not less than 1 day in the City County Jail nor more than a term of 90 days. The use of Uniform traffic citations are authorized for any enforcement of this section.
