Pursuant to and in compliance with the terms set forth in M.C.L.A. § 600.8731, if a party fails to pay a civil fine, cost, assessment, or installment within the time specified by a court of competent jurisdiction, Clayton Township may seek to obtain a lien against the land, building, or structure involved in the violation by recording a copy of the court order requiring payment of the fines, costs, and assessment with the Register of Deeds for Genesee County. The lien shall be effective immediately upon recording of the court order with the Genesee County Register of Deeds.
