A charitable, religious, school, veterans or scout organization shall be exempt from payment of any fee as may be required by this chapter when making application for a permit to solicit contributions or sell or offer for sale any item for any charitable religious or other purpose, on the streets or in public places or door-to-door campaign in the township.
