There is hereby created a Commission pursuant to Act 18 of 1933 (Extra Session), being M.C.L.A §§ 125.651 et seq., effective January 9, 1934, which shall be known as the Township Housing Commission, which shall have the power to purchase, acquire, construct, maintain, operate, improve, extend or repair facilities and eliminate housing conditions which are detrimental to the public peace, health, safety, morals or welfare of the residents of the unincorporated area of the Charter Township of Clayton.
