The charges cited by this chapter shall not be exclusive charges for emergency services provided by the Clayton Township Police Department and/or the Swartz Creek Area Fire Department. Fees may be additionally collected by Clayton Township through general taxation after a vote of the electorate approving the same or by a special assessment established under the Michigan Statutes. General Fund appropriations may also be made to cover such additional costs and expenses of providing emergency services.
