A. The effective dates of business licenses will commence on January 1 each year (or the date of approval in the case of a new license) and terminate at eleven fifty-nine o’clock (11:59 P.M.) on December 31 each year, except:
1. Project contractor licenses shall terminate at the conclusion of the specific project requiring the license;
2. Seven (7) day contractor licenses shall terminate at the end of the requested seven (7) day period of operation;
3. Seasonal retail licenses shall terminate at the end of the consecutive six (6) month period of operation; and
4. Short term licenses shall terminate at the end of requested seven (7) day period of operation.
B. Display of Business License:
1. For businesses at a fixed location, the business license shall be stored and displayed publicly at the place of business in a location easily seen from areas accessible to customers of the business.
2. For businesses not at a fixed location, the business license shall be carried at all times by the licensed business while engaged in the activity. Upon request, the licensed business shall show the license to a person with whom he or she is dealing as part of the licensed activity or to an officer of the City.
3. A business license for a vehicle-based business shall be displayed on the vehicle as required by the City Manager.
C. The City Manager may place additional conditions on a business license as a condition of maintaining the license required by State or local laws.
D. A licensee may not advertise for business in any name other than the name for which a license is held. (Ord. 698, 8-5-2020, eff. 8-31-2020)
