The purpose of this chapter is to provide guidelines for sign design, location, material, type, size, and manner of display. All signs must comply with the provisions of this chapter; however, only certain types of signs or sign alterations require a permit. These regulations are intended to allow such signs that will not by their size, location, design, construction or manner of display endanger the public safety of individuals, obstruct vision necessary for traffic safety, and maintain the city's aesthetic environment.
