7-6-1: HEIGHT RESTRICTIONS:
   A.   Adjacent To City Streets:
      1.   Hedges, sight obscuring fences and objects within fifteen feet (15') of the curb or edge of any city street shall not exceed a height of three feet (3') above the established grade of the yard or of any driveway which may exist or be constructed, whichever is lower. However, single trees on which limbs and branches are kept removed from the tree trunk for a height of at least six feet (6') above the established grade of the public street shall be permitted within fifteen feet (15') of the curb or edge of any city street.
      2.   In the case of corner lots, a hedge or sight obscuring fence or object and all flowers, shrubs and other plants may not exceed a height of two feet (2') above the established grade for the public street within a triangular shaped area determined by measuring a distance of thirty feet (30') from the property corner at the street's intersection, along the property line common to the lot and each abutting street, and the straight line necessary to connect the above mentioned two (2) thirty foot (30') sides in order to form the third side of the triangle; provided, that single trees, the limbs and branches of which are kept removed from the tree trunk for a height of at least six feet (6') above the established grade of the public street, shall be permitted.
   B.   Side Property Line: No hedge or sight obscuring fence or object on any side property line or in the required open side yard shall be over six feet (6') in height, except in the case of corner lots where such a hedge or fence or object and all flowers, shrubs and other plants may not exceed a height of two feet (2') above the grade of the public street within a triangular shaped area determined by measuring a distance of thirty feet (30') from the property corner at the street's intersection, along the property line common to the lot and each abutting street and the straight line necessary to connect the above mentioned two (2) thirty foot (30') sides in order to form the third side of the triangle; provided, that single trees, the limbs and branches of which are kept removed from the tree trunk for a height of at least six feet (6') above the established grade of the public street, shall be permitted.
   C.   Rear Property Line: No hedge or sight obscuring fence on any rear property lines, around or in any rear yard shall be over six feet (6') in height. (1996 Code § 12.16.010)
