6-1-5: TRAFFIC CONTROL, DEVICES AND STANDARDS:
   A.   Temporary Installation In Case Of Public Danger: Under conditions constituting a danger to the public, the city manager, a police officer, or a public works supervisor may install necessary temporary traffic control devices. (Ord. 644, 3-1-2006)
   B.   Standards: The traffic control regulations of the city shall be based upon: (1996 Code § 10.04.050; amd. 2004 Code)
      1.   Traffic engineering principles and traffic investigations.
      2.   Standards, limitations and rules promulgated by the state highway commission.
      3.   Other recognized traffic control standards. (1996 Code § 10.04.050)
   C.   Police And Fire Officer Duties And Authority:
      1.   It is the duty of police officers to enforce the provisions of this chapter.
      2.   In the event of a fire or other public emergency, officers of the police and fire departments may direct traffic as conditions require, notwithstanding the provisions of this title. (1996 Code § 10.04.060)
   D.   Obedience To And Alteration Of Control Devices:
      1.   No person shall disobey the instruction of a traffic officer or a traffic control device.
      2.   No unauthorized person shall install, move, remove, obstruct, alter the position of, deface or tamper with a traffic control device. (1996 Code § 10.04.070)
   E.   Existence Evidences Authorized: The existence of a traffic control device shall be prima facie evidence that the device was lawfully authorized and installed. (1996 Code § 10.04.080)
   F.   Existing Control Devices: Traffic control devices installed prior to the effective date hereof are lawfully authorized. (1996 Code § 10.04.090)
