A. Applicability: The provisions of the residential code shall apply to all buildings or portions thereof used, designed for or intended to be used for human habitation. Occupancies in existing buildings may be continued as provided in the building code, except for such structures as are found to be "substandard", as defined in the residential code. B. Alterations To Existing Buildings: Existing buildings which are altered or enlarged shall be made to conform to the residential code, insofar as the new work is concerned. (1976 Code § 9-653; amd. 2003 Code)
C. Relocation Of Existing Buildings: Existing buildings which are moved or relocated shall be considered as new buildings and shall comply with all requirements of the residential code. (1976 Code § 9-654; amd. 2003 Code)
