Equipment belonging to the Department of Public Safety may be utilized for response to emergency situations within a three-mile radius of the village. The Director and officers of the Department of Public Safety may, in appropriate situations, respond to emergencies outside the three-mile radius of the village, however, in such an event, said persons shall not operate the emergency lights and siren on village police cruisers and village police vehicles.
