(A) Except as permitted herein, it shall be unlawful for any person, corporation, firm, or other entity, in the capacity of owner, occupant, lessee, mortgagee, or agent thereof to keep or maintain, within the village limits, any chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, pheasants, quail, pigeon, ostriches, or any other similar fowl.
(B) Any person who keeps such fowl in the village shall obtain a license from the village prior to acquiring any fowl. Application shall be made to village hall, and the fee for the license shall be set by resolution.
(C) Licenses are valid for the calendar year and shall expire and become invalid on December 31 at the end of the calendar year after the date of issuance; prorating the fee is not allowed. A person who wishes to continue keeping fowl shall have obtained a new license on or before January 1. Application for a new license shall be pursuant to the administrative procedures and requirements that are applicable at the time the person applies for a new license.
(D) A person who keeps or houses fowl on his or her property shall comply with all village requirements.
