(A) The Board of Trustees of the village may, by ordinance call a caucus for the purpose of nominating candidates for offices to be filled in the village election.
(B) Such caucus shall be held at least ten days prior to the filing deadline for such election.
(C) Notice of such caucus must be published in one newspaper of general circulation in the village, at least once in each of two consecutive weeks prior to said caucus.
(D) The Village Clerk shall notify the person so nominated of his, her, or their nomination and such notification shall take place not less than five days after the said caucus.
(E) A candidate so nominated shall not have his, her, or their name placed upon the ballot unless, not more than ten days after the holding of such caucus, he, she, or they shall have filed with the Village Clerk a written statement accepting the nomination of the caucus and shall have paid the filing fee, if any, for the office for which he, she, or they was nominated.
