§ 150.05  GENERAL PRINCIPLES.
   The following principles apply to all land disturbing activities within the county and shall be considered in the preparation of submissions required under this chapter:
   (A)   To minimize the potential for soil erosion, development should fit the topography and soils of the site. Areas with steep slopes where deep cuts and fills may be required should be avoided wherever possible, and natural contours shall be followed as closely as possible;
   (B)   Natural vegetation shall be retained and protected wherever possible;
   (C)   All activities on a site shall be conducted in a logical sequence so that the smallest practical area of land will be exposed for the shortest practical period of time during development;
   (D)   Minimize the length and steepness of slopes to reduce erosion potential; and
   (E)   Sites that have sensitive environmental features (sinkholes, wetlands, steep slopes and water features such as watercourses, lakes and the like) shall include provisions in the development plans to implement BMPs (best management practices) to protect the features from pollution or other negative impacts of development activities. As a minimum, such provisions shall include conservation buffers and other permanent measures to protect the areas.
