(A) No person shall be allowed access to the judicial wing who is in the possession of any knife, weapon, firearm or other dangerous instrumentality (“prohibited item”) capable of inflicting harm upon another person or the property of another person as of the effective date of this chapter.
(B) The Sheriff of the county, any law enforcement officer in the county and any security firm appointed or retained by the Board who monitor access to the judicial wing (“enforcement officer”) shall be authorized under this chapter to enforce the terms hereof.
(C) All persons desiring to enter the judicial wing who are in possession of a prohibited item shall be denied access thereto by any enforcement officer described above until such time as such person is no longer in possession of such prohibited item.
(D) No enforcement officer defined above shall perform any duty in the nature of holding or temporarily storing a prohibited item for any person seeking access to the judicial wing. Such enforcement officer is prohibited from performing any such service for such person. Such enforcement officer is prohibited from accepting temporary possession of a prohibited item for any person who enters the judicial wing.
(E) An enforcement officer as described above is authorized to direct a person in possession of a prohibited item, who seeks access to the judicial wing, to exit the building and dispose of the prohibited item in a manner of his or her choosing before being allowed access to the judicial wing.
