§ 70.10  LOAD RESTRICTIONS.
   (A)   Emergency load restrictions upon vehicles using certain roads. When based on an investigation by the County Engineer or County Highway Superintendent, the County Commissioners are hereby given the authority to post emergency load limits on certain county roads due to flooding, freezing, thawing or other conditions. Such emergency load limits shall be limited to a period of six months or less as determined by the County Highway Superintendent after consultation with the county engineer. Said load limits shall be in force upon the posting of signs giving notice thereof.
   (B)   General load restrictions. The load limit for vehicles using any county highway or road shall be a maximum gross weight of eight tons per axle, and no person, firm or corporation shall cause to be operated any vehicle that exceeds the said limit. This shall not prevent other more restrictive load limits from being required by other sections of this traffic code.
