A. General Duties: It shall be the duty of the Director of Public Works or his/her designee to preserve and protect the property of the Village relating to the water system. The Director of Public Works or his/her designee shall supervise and direct the laying of all water mains of the Village and inspect all plumbing connected or to be connected to the water system.
B. Records, Taps And Connections: The Director of Public Works or his/her designee shall keep a complete and accurate record of all taps and connections made with the water system, their exact location, number and size, the length and size of all service pipes and the location of all shutoff boxes; a copy of such record for any tap or connection will be promptly routed to the Finance Department when work is completed.
C. Water System Reports: In December of each year, the Director of Public Works or his/her designee shall submit to the Village Manager a report of the condition of the waterworks system and all major units thereof, and such other information as may be deemed proper.
D. Maintenance Operation: The Director of Public Works or his/her designee shall have charge of all machinery, equipment and appurtenances of the water system, and shall operate the system. The Director of Public Works or his/her designee shall make or direct all necessary repairs in connection with the system and further supervise all turning on and shutting off of water. The Director of Public Works or his/her designee shall furnish the Finance Department with a reading of all meters connected to the system as required. (Ord. 18-03-05)
