B. Amendments: Any addition or amendments to this code are incorporated in this code, so that a reference to the Clarendon Hills municipal code includes such additions and amendments.
C. Numbering Of Chapters And Sections: Chapters and sections within a chapter will be numbered numerically. The section code consists of one or more numbers. For example: 1.1.; 9.22.; 23.4.
D. Numbering Subsections: The following outlining system shall be used:
1. chapter number
.1. section number
A.; (1); (a); 1); a) subsection identification.
E. Adding Or Removing Chapters, Sections And Subsections:
(1) Adding A Chapter: When a chapter is added to the code, it will take the number immediately following the highest assigned chapter number, unless a chapter has been specially reserved for a specific issue.
(2) Section And Subsection Numbering:
(a) Section and subsection numbers will change when new sections or subsections are added or old ones removed with the exception of chapter 41. For example, if a new subsection D is added to a chapter, the existing subsection D becomes E, E becomes F, etc. If subsection D was deleted, the existing E would become D.
(b) Chapter 41: This chapter number, section and subsections numbers are used by the police department in writing citations. Since changes in the numbering complicate this work, section and subsection numbers in this chapter always stay the same.
1) If new sections or subsections are added to chapter 41, they are added at the end of the sections or subsections.
2) If sections or subsections are deleted, the number is not reassigned. A note will be inserted in the code indicating the subsection number and name with this statement: "Removed in its entirety by Ordinance No. ". (Ord. 15-04-24)
