4.8: VILLAGE CLERK:
In addition to the duties imposed by State Statute, the Village Clerk shall perform the following duties:
   A.   Publication Of Ordinances: Publish in pamphlet form, or other form as required by State Statute, ordinances passed by the Village Board that are required by State Statute to be published.
   B.   Copies Of Ordinances And Other Proceedings: Maintain in the Village Hall copies of all proceedings of the Village Board, all ordinances and resolutions passed, all petitions filed, and all other documents and papers relating to the business of the Village Board.
   C.   Service Of Notices: Serve all notices, either by personal service, by publication, or by mail, as required by State Statute, by this Code, by the ordinances of the Village, or by order of the Village Board, in the manner required by law, unless notices are expressly ordered to be served by some other person.
   D.   Attestation: Attest to all ordinances, resolutions, contracts, bonds, or other agreements in writing, or evidence of indebtedness, of the Village, made by the Village Board.
   E.   Special Duties: Perform all and such duties as are from time to time imposed upon the Village Clerk by the Village Board of Trustees.
   F.   Fees: Keep an accurate and true account of all fees and emoluments of the Office of Village Clerk which are derivable by virtue of this Code or other Village ordinances, and pay the same to the Director of Finance/Village Treasurer promptly after receipt, together with a written report thereof.
   G.   Compensation For The Village Clerk: As established pursuant to and in compliance with the provisions of the State Statutes, the annual compensation of the Village Clerk whose term of office commences after the consolidated election in April of 2019 shall, effective May 20, 2019, be thirteen thousand dollars ($13,000.00) until December 31, 2019, which shall be paid in bi-weekly installments. Effective January 1, 2020, and on each January 1st thereafter, the compensation then in effect shall be increased by the percent change in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U), for the Chicago-Naperville-Elgin area, as calculated and published by the United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, for the previous calendar year, rounded to the next highest dollar amount as appropriate to result in an even dollar amount for payroll purposes, payable in bi-weekly installments.
   H.   Appointment Of Deputy Village Clerk: Appoint a Deputy Village Clerk or Deputy Village Clerks pursuant to section 4.9 of this chapter.
