Whenever the chief of the bureau of fire prevention shall disapprove an application, or when it is claimed that the provisions of this chapter do not apply, or that the true intent and meaning of this chapter have been misconstrued or wrongly interpreted, the applicant or person affected may appeal from the decision of the chief of the bureau of fire prevention by written notice filed in the office of the said bureau, 316 Park Avenue, Clarendon Hills, IL 60514, within thirty (30) days from the date of the decision being appealed.
The said bureau shall call a hearing on said appeal within twenty (20) days of said notice of appeal filing. The appeals board shall consist of the village manager and two (2) village trustees, which hold the positions as the chairman and vice chairman of the public safety committee. The hearing board shall render a decision within ten (10) days after completing such hearing. Nothing shall prevent the village from seeking immediate enforcement of the regulations of this chapter in court where the hazard involved requires such action. (Ord. 00-08-23)
