(A) There is hereby established within the Police Department a lost and found property registry.
(B) Anyone who finds lost property may either relinquish possession of such property by surrendering such property to the Police Department and executing a statement relinquishing any interest to the property; or retain possession of such property and register its description and the finder's identity with the Police Department.
(C) Any property relinquished to the Police Department pursuant to division (B) of this section shall be held by the Police Department and may be disposed of as provided by § 34.31 of this chapter.
