§ 131.01 PETIT LARCENY AND EMBEZZLEMENT PROHIBITED.
   (A)    PETIT LARCENY is the taking of personal property of value not exceeding $500 accomplished by fraud or stealth and with intent to deprive another thereof, but it does not include the taking of such property from the “person” of another.
   (B)   Petit larceny is unlawful, and any person who commits larceny shall be guilty of a misde-meanor.

   (C)   Embezzlement, as that term is defined by state law, of any money or property or effects of another under the value of $500, is a misdemeanor offense.
