During the performance of the work, the contractor will maintain proper guards for the prevention of accidents, and put up and maintain suitable and sufficient light, and he will observe all city ordinances relating to obstructing streets, maintaining signals, keeping open passage ways and protecting the same when exposed and generally will obey all laws and ordinances controlling or limiting those engaged in the work.
