§ 91.09 EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES BOARD.
   (A)   There is hereby created an Emergency Medical Services Board to act in an advisory capacity to the Council in the development, formulation, and alteration of rules, regulations and standards for the operations of ambulances, certification of operators, issuance of permits, and registrations as defined herein. The Board shall be responsible for a continuing study and recommendations concerning the emergency medical services of the city.
   (B)   The Board shall consist of seven members composed as follows: A member who is a licensed physician and who is also a member of the county medical society; a member who is a representative of one of the local hospital administrations; a member who is a representative from the state nurses association; a member who is a representative of the Mayor and City Council; and three members from the community at large. All Board members shall serve without compensation.
   (C)   The members shall be appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Council for a term of three years, except that initially two of the members shall be appointed for three-year terms, three of the members shall be appointed for two-year terms, and two of the members shall be appointed for a one- year term. All members, however, shall hold office until their successors are appointed. The initial members of the Board shall be appointed within two weeks of the date of the enactment of this chapter.
