(a) This section shall be certified by the Clerk and forwarded to the Director of the Department of Transportation as an official request pursuant to Ohio R.C. 5513.01(B) seeking authorization to participate in the contract for equipment.
(b) The Director is requested to look upon this request in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of the motoring public of the City.
(c) The Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to agree in the name of the City, to be bound by all terms and conditions as the Director of Transportation prescribes.
(d) The Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to agree in the name of the City to directly pay the vendor, under each such contract of the Ohio Department of Transportation in which the City participates, for items it receives pursuant to the contract.
(e) Council shall authorize all purchases through this program over five thousand dollars ($5,000).
