1319.21 ELECTRICAL PERMITS; FEES.
   (a)    Permits. No person shall commence or proceed with the installation or alteration of any electrical equipment in or about any building in the City without first obtaining from the Building Inspector, a permit to do such work. No permit shall be required for such work as repairing drop cords, existing heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigerating equipment, or repairing existing wiring, receptacles, switches or circuit breakers. In cases where an emergency or urgent necessity exists, such electrical work may be proceeded with, prior to the obtaining of a permit, if a person obtains the necessary permit as soon as the office of the Building Department is open for business.
   (b)    Fees. The fees for electrical permits are hereby established as follows:
(1)    Electrical permit for residential service upgrades with associated wiring shall be thirty-five dollars ($35.00).
(2)    Electrical permit fees for new or additional residential electric metered service with associated wiring shall be fifty dollars ($50.00).
(3)    Electrical permit fees for new temporary service shall be thirty-five dollars ($35.00).
(4)    Electrical permit fees for commercial service upgrade for new commercial electrical meter service shall be one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00), plus two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) per 100 square feet of total floor area.
