The grantee has been operating a cable communications system pursuant to the City cable television franchise, Ordinance 85-71, as amended by Ordinances 10-73, 60-76, 12-77, 03-34-92 and 04-29-92, expiring September 30, 1992. The City intends, by the adoption of this franchise, to authorize the continued operation of a system by the grantee following the expiration of the current franchise. Such a development can contribute significantly to the communication needs and interests of the City and many individuals, associations and institutions.
