The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to any person:
(a) Conducting a garage sale, lawn sale, yard sale or basement sale at or within reasonable proximity of his/her garage, lawn, yard or basement;
(b) Who engages in the sale of motor vehicles;
(c) When transactions of five or fewer compact discs, video game cartridges and/or video game compact discs, DVD's or books result in store credit and no money is given for these items;
(d) Conducting a charitable rummage sale, book sale and the like, or a charitable thrift store, where the entire proceeds of such sale or store will be contributed to a charitable organization;
(e) Who deals exclusively in antiques;
(f) Who operates a consignment shop;
(g) Who operates a junk yard;
(h) Who deals exclusively in second-hand furniture;
(i) Who deals exclusively in second-hand clothing, except for furs;
(j) Conducting an estate sale or auction; or
(k) Who deals exclusively in second-hand major appliances.
