(a) No owner or occupant of abutting lands shall fail to keep the sidewalks, curbs or gutters in repair and free from snow, ice, or any nuisance. On any claim presented for bodily injury or property damage on the sidewalks, curbs or gutters, the adjoining or abutting property owner shall be held liable in tort for such damages to another. Alternatively, should the City of Circleville be called upon to make such payment to a third-party, the City will look to the adjoining or abutting landowner for contribution and indemnity.
(b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
