353.05 PARKING AFTER EXPIRATION.
   (a)   No person shall cause, allow or permit a motor vehicle to occupy any unmetered parking space beyond the maximum consecutive parking time limit of two hours, unless a shorter maximum time limit is lawfully prescribed by appropriate notice on posted signs. Each two hours of continuing violation shall be deemed a separate offense.
   (b)   No person shall cause, allow or permit the chalk marking on vehicle tires placed by the City’s parking enforcement officers to be erased, removed or covered.
   (c)   No person shall cause, allow or permit a motor vehicle to be moved to another parking space on the same side of the city street or alley within one block after once occupying another two hour maximum parking space within such block.
   (d)   No person shall, during the hours and times not exempted, park and leave standing in any metered parking space a motor vehicle at or after the time when the meter displays a notice of expiration of lawful parking time. (Ord. 06-38-97. Passed 6-17-97.)
   (e)   As used in this section, a “parking space” means a space within a parking area, which is designated for the parking of a single motor vehicle by marked lines on the curb or paved surface area.
   (f)   No person shall cause, allow or permit a motor vehicle to be parked in a parking space in such a way that the vehicle’s wheels are not entirely within the limits of the space so designated by marked lines. It may be a defense to a citation for violation of this section if at the time of parking or during the time of occupancy of the space, such parking lines were not visible because of accumulated snow. The existence of posts intended for parking meters shall not be regarded as a designation of the parking space where the paved surface has visible painted marked lines.
(Ord. 12-98-00. Passed 12-19-00.)
