(A) Roads predominantly running east-west or northwest-southeast are known as streets, and shall be in numerical order starting at First Street. Streets predominantly running north-south or northeast-southwest are known as avenues, and shall be in alphabetical order going west, starting at the Burlington Northern Railway. The streets east of the railway will retain their platted names. Some streets and avenues have been extended to name previously unnamed roadways.
(B) No streets and avenues should have a duplicate name or similar sounding names.
(C) A continuous street or avenue should bear the same name throughout its entire length. No separate name is to be used for a cul-de-sac that provides street frontage for three or less lots or units.
