Effective September 17, 2013, the Town Council hereby adopts its ADA transition plan:
(A) Transition plan development. To ensure program accessibility for people with disability in the community, the town has developed a transition plan, which is to be considered good practice.
(B) Inventory conducted. The town has conducted an inventory of evaluations of curbs ramps and sidewalks using aerial views. Attached to Resolution 09-17-2013-4 as Exhibit A is a photographic inventory of these ramps and sidewalks. The town is committed to making sidewalks and ramp areas accessible to all pedestrians, including those with disabilities, which will be accomplished through the following programs:
(1) The town will have in place a sidewalk repair program annually.
(2) The 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design (“2010 ADA Standards”) is adopted as minimum requirements for the town’s newly constructed or modified public rights-of-way. This adoption should not be construed as relieving the town of complying with more stringent standards that are required by either the Indiana Department of Transportation or pursuant to internal town policies or procedures. The 2010 ADA Standards is available online at:
(C) Appointment of ADA Coordinator. The Building Inspector for the town is appointed ADA Coordinator.
(D) Grievance procedure adopted. The town grievance procedure under the Americans with Disabilities Act is adopted. A copy of this document is attached to Resolution 09-17-2013-4 and shall be posted on the town website and at other suitable areas to be determined by the ADA Coordinator.
