Where not otherwise provided by this code or law for specific violations, the city may recover civil damages for violation of this code, any ordinance of the city or any other applicable law. Such damages shall include the time and overhead of city employees and material expended or used as a result of the violation as well as attorney fees and court costs. These civil remedies shall be in addition to any criminal penalties provided by law. All claims made by the city for recovery of civil damages shall be approved by the city council prior to being pursued. (Ord. 371 §1, 1992)
