No persons shall, within the limits of the city, engage in any trade, occupation or business or operate or conduct any performance or amusement not specifically mentioned in this chapter without first having obtained a license therefor from the city clerk. Such licenses shall be issued only upon payment of the fees specified and such licenses shall not be transferable and, if the licensee named herein ceases to personally supervise, conduct and operate the trade or business and license mentioned, the license shall thereby be terminated. No fee paid nor any part thereof for any license shall be refunded even though the licensee may fail to operate for the period named therein, nor for a portion of such period. (Ord. 33 §A, 1956)
