For the purpose of this chapter:
CENTRAL SYSTEM: A system or group of systems, operated for its customers by a person, firm or corporation, in which the operations of electrical protection circuits and devices are transmitted, recorded in and supervised from, a central location.
FALSE ALARM: The activation of a fire or burglary alarm other than by a fire, forced entry or attempted forced entry to the premises, at a time when there is no fire and no burglary or other crime being committed or attempted on the premises. Provided, however, that when the city has been notified that work is being done on an alarm system, and that the city should not respond to alarms on that system, such activation of the system shall not be considered a false alarm.
