It shall be the policy of the City Police Department to comply with OSHA Blood-Borne Pathogens Standard, 29 C.F.R. § 1910.1030, as adopted by the State Department of Labor. It is the responsibility of the Department to ensure that its members are able to perform their duties in a safe and effective manner. The City Police Department will provide employees with up-to-date safety procedures and communicable disease information that will assist in minimizing potential exposure, while increasing their understanding of the nature and potential risks of communicable diseases.
