15.16.030   Buildings facing street—Construction materials—Restrictions .
   Buildings facing on streets inside of the fire district of the city shall be constructed of brick, concrete, hollow tile, or a similar fireproof material. All sheeting except roofs shall be of gypsum board or its approved equal in brick veneered or stucco buildings. Fire stops shall be installed in stud walls, partitions, or spaces between joists where they rest on division walls or bearing partitions, and similar vertical spaces shall be firestopped in a manner to cut off all concealed draft openings. Such firestopping shall extend the full width of studs and depth of joists and at least four inches above each floor level. Stair carriages shall be firestopped at least once in the middle portion of each run.
