Standard full weight wrought iron or steel pipe, free from defects, shall be used in conveying gas from meter to appliances, except that approved seamless, well-annealed, nonferrous tubing with approved fittings may be used for permanent connections of small stationary appliances such as radiant fires installed in fireplaces, etc. All fittings for wrought iron or steel pipe (except stop cocks or valves) shall be of best quality malleable iron. Threads shall be in accordance with the American Pipe Thread Standard.
